Accompany Children to do Creative Activities
#BersamaMelawanCovid19 - In order to avoid the spread of Covid-19, the Kubu Raya Regency government has appealed to the public not to hold meetings that gather large crowds. This regulation makes children's activities that were always carried out before the pandemic, now it cannot be done anymore.
In order to bridge this challenge, Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) Kubu Raya Program Area has produced videos, one of which is a storytelling video that can be used as an assistive tool for parents to fill their children's spare time at home. Since this video was distributed to the community assisted by WVI, at least 304 children have watched the video and responded to the video by drawing a hedgehog according to the direction in the video.
Erna Susilawati (29 yo) is one of the parents who accompanies a child in watching the video. She accompanies her daughter, Merlin (7 yo) to watch the fairy tale video and send the children's work according to what is presented in the video.
"I want to accompany the children to watch and create creative activities so that the children don't feel bored at home and increase their creativity at home," said Erna, explaining the reasons for accompanying Merlin.
According to Erna, the video was deliberately given to parents, and parents were directed to accompany the child while watching the video. Erna added that the video is quite interesting because it contains fairy tales, one of which is the story of the origin of the hedgehog's fur.
'' At the end of the video, the child is given instructions to make a hedgehog as a child's creation. My son made a hedgehog using grass to represent the hedgehog fur. Thank you WVI for the video. I am proud of WVI, who continues to appreciate all the children who participated. Every child who sends his / her work is given a prize,” Erna closed the conversation.
