For the Youth of Our Village
The pandemic that lasted for more than a year made the Gaperta Children's Forum from Sambas Regency anxious about the absence of a good and child-friendly environment for teenagers in the village. This situation has motivated the Gaperta Children's Forum to act for the youth in the village, with the aim that the youth in their village can become the agents of change in the future.
Fahmi, the Leader of the Gaperta Children's Forum, was also enthusiastic about making this happen. Together with his friends, Fahmi started the movement by holding regular meetings. They agreed to disseminate the Love Language and No Stigma material.
Fahmi and other members of the children's forum discussed what activities should be done and which were beneficial for youth in the village. Finally, on May 29, 2021, the Gaperta Children's Forum officially carried out socialization supported by village governments. Fahmi was one of those who delivered the material in front of many people.
“It was the first time I gave material to my friends. At first, I was insecure, scared, and tense when I stood in front. However, I am confident with my abilities that I can convey the material well and provide a good example to all my friends,” said Fahmi.
The efforts of Fahmi and his friends were not in vain. Dimas, one of the participants felt the benefits of what the Gaperta Children's Forum had done.
“The material is very good for our age. We know what is allowed and what is not allowed for us," Dimas explained.
Fahmi and members of the Gaperta Children's Forum hoped that youth in the village could change for the better after dissemination. They can have a friendly and loving environment, they can even become agents of change for their village in the future.
