Mass Vaccination Activator in Sekadau
The rise of COVID-19 cases currently hitting Indonesia requires all people from all regions to receive vaccinations, including the Sekadau Regency area. According to the Sekadau Regency Government, 20,000 children aged 12-17 years are the main targets of vaccine recipients in the Sekadau Regency.
In facilitating the vaccination program, Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) along with the Sekadau Regency Child’s Forum, and several other parties also contributed. Various facilities such as hygiene kit packages supported by WVI were also provided to children who had been vaccinated.
In addition, WVI and several other parties also provided online socialization of vaccine activities, registering children to be vaccinated, collecting family cards or child identity cards (KIA), and providing information on vaccine procedures and stages.
The Sekadau Regency Child’s Forum also took an active role in accelerating the vaccination program for children by assisting the vaccination process at five areas, namely the PKK building, the Kateketik building, the Public Service Mall, SMPK St. Gabriel, and Keraton Kusuma Negara Sekadau.
“We are delighted because many children are involved in vaccination activities. Friends are not afraid and without hesitation want to be vaccinated to be immune to the Coronavirus. We are also proud to contribute to government programs and have an impact on children in Sekadau. Not many Child Forum have the opportunity to be involved in facilitating vaccination activities. We hope that we can return to face-to-face learning in schools, and this pandemic will end soon,” said Mia, Deputy Chairperson of Sekadau Regency Child’s Forum.
