Moringa Project Distributes First Medical Assistance to RSUD Mokoyurli Buol
#BersamaMelawanCovid19 - The increasing number of positive cases of Covid-19, People in Monitoring (ODP), and Patients in Monitoring (PDP) status in Toli-toli Regency which is adjacent to Buol Regency, Central Sulawesi, made the RSUD Mokoyurli Buol in Buol Regency become a referral hospital for Covid-19. Unfortunately, the hospital does not have the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to support the medical personnel.
Buol Regency is one of Wahana Visi Indonesia's (WVI) assisted areas through the Moringa project. WVI through the Moringa project supported by the Australian government saw this condition and decided to provide assistance in the form of PPE to Mokoyurli Buol Regional Hospital after coordinating with the Head of the Covid-19 Task Force in Central Sulawesi Province, who also the Head of the Central Sulawesi Provincial Health Office, Dr. Reny A. Lamadjido. Sp.PK., M.Kes.
He said that at that time the PPE owned by the province was also very limited and could not be distributed to the districts. Therefore, the Central Sulawesi Provincial Health Office welcomed the PPE assistance distributed by WVI.
The assistance provided included: 3,000 surgical masks, 3,000 latex gloves, 100 face masks, 50 liters of hand sanitizer, 50 disposable hazmat suit, and 100 footwear covers. Due to the social distancing policy in line with the increase in positive cases in Buol Regency, the Mokoyurli Buol District Hospital took the initiative to pick up PPE directly to the WVI office. They picked up the PPE because the availability of PPE was very minimal and no PPE assistance came at that time.
Head of RSUD Mokoyurli Buol, Dr. Aryanto Panambang, who is also the Chairperson of the Buol Covid-19 Task Force, expressed his deep gratitude to WVI because of the assistance arrived very timely.
"On behalf of the hospital and personally, we express our gratitude to Wahana Visi Indonesia for the PPE assistance provided, because when assistance came at that time we were still in trouble and very critical because the existing partners were also out of stock and had not received certainty of PPE assistance from the province. I am grateful to have WVI friends who came at the right time, really overcome in times of crisis where PPE is very difficult to obtain at the time," said Dr. Aryanto.
According to his statement, the PPE assistance provided has been used by 64 medical personnel for almost 2 weeks and is devoted to medical personnel who handle Covid-19 cases.
At present, the number of positive cases of Covid-19 in Buol Regency has experienced a very drastic surge and reached 53 people on May 30, 2020, and is the region with the most positive cases in Central Sulawesi.
