Realizing Creativity Through Children's Study Groups
Sapira (13), assisted child of Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI), is happy because during a pandemic she can still learn and hone her creativity through KBA (Children's Learning Group) in the village. Whereas previously she could only be at home because learning activities at school were closed.
"At home, I spend my time with study, besides that, I also play with my younger siblings and nephews and help my mother look after the shop," said Sapira.
Sapira took the KBA Creativity Class. In that class, she learned many things including drawing, painting, and processing organic and non-organic waste. Sapira and her friends even made pencil cases from used bottles and dry leaves and turned animal waste into compost.
She also said that when she participated in WVI activities she felt that she had gained a lot of knowledge, one of which she understood about maintaining personal hygiene and protecting himself from bad associations, so according to him, when there was KBA, he and the other children could have time to do different activities positively.
According to her, with KBA in the village, children who used to only play can now discover their interests and talents. Her friends who previously could not play the guitar or dance eventually became fond of playing guitar and dancing, even to the point of making their parents amazed by what they were doing.
Sapira hopes that the KBA Creativity Class will be more attractive to the children in the village, so that they can learn together and be able to do activities that are useful for the environment, such as processing waste better.
