Birthday Gift for Indonesian Children's Education
Recently, WVI in collaboration with Central Department Store and Mastercard announced an initiative to enable children in Biak, Papua, to gain access to quality education. The initiative is part of Central Department Store's 8th anniversary celebration.
"Education is an important foundation for the development of every child, especially for character building and maximizing the potential in each child. Therefore, I feel the need for us to be able to take part in bringing change, especially in the field of education. As a form of gratitude for our various achievements at the age of 8," said Hedy Djaja Ria, Director of PT Central Retail Indonesia.
Creating change in the field of education for Indonesian children is the hope of Central Department Store in celebrating its 8th anniversary. Together with Mastercard, Central Department Store shares happiness and gratitude through WVI to support children's education in Biak, Papua by building Rumah Baca Biak.
The donations collected will be given to the procurement of a reading house aimed at improving the literacy skills of children in Biak, Papua.
"Through this initiative, we hope that more customers will give and even the community will be moved to join us in helping children in Biak, Papua," added Hedy.
