Happy to Have Clean Water
(left to right) Yonas (7) and Yasiw (8) are two brothers from Asmat Regency. Both of them now have new good habits since Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) has placed rainwater storage tanks near their homes. Both of them now also love to do handwashing with soap.
Yonas and Yasiw were always passionate about helping their parent in carrying out daily activities such as washing dishes, cooking, or washing clothes. In the past, before there was a source of clean water in their village, Yonas and Yasiw had to go to the river to fetch and draw water.
"We are very proud to get water from WVI's brother. We don't buckle the water again if we want to cook,” said Yonas and Yasiw happily.
Anton and Margret, parents of Yonas and Yasiw, are also happy to see the changes in their family. Ease happened in their life at this time.
"We are very grateful to WVI who has helped us as a family with a water tank, this water failure helps us so that we no longer have trouble getting water at times," said Anton.
WVI, through the Asmat Hope program, still assists the community and children in Asmat Regency, Papua to this day. The construction of rainwater reservoirs is one of the programs carried out by WVI to help assisted communities have a cleaner and healthier lifestyle.
