Supporting ECCD in Pandemic Times
During the pandemic, activities outside the home are limited, especially in Engkersik Village, Sekadau Regency. People in this village have other ways to maintain harmony between residents during the Covid-19 pandemic. They formed a small group to work together to clean up the environment, draw, and paint the walls of the ECCD (Early Childhood Care and Development) in this village.
Suwarni (32) is one of the parents involved in the activity.
"The parents are aware of how important this PAUD building is for the education of their children, so they initiate to make this building more beautiful," said Suwarni explaining the reasons why the community agreed to do the activity.
To maximize the work, about 5-6 people were assigned to be part of
four small groups and they worked alternately. This cooperation is carried out to establish cooperation between the community and the ECCD building management.
The building, which was worn out and had a lot of graffiti, immediately returned clean and refreshed the eyes. The work has even brought joy to the ECCD tutor. Lusia Diana, a tutor, said that parents support the rehabilitation financially, as well as pour creative ideas and energy for a better school building for their children.
"The results are very good and neat with a very good thickness of paint and very creative images," said Lusia.
Now, ECCD in Engkersik Village is more colorful. The children who have started to return to go to school are even more excited to enter their classroom area.
